happy ♥ day! | cabot, ar children’s photographer.

I decided to have a Valentine’s shoot with my little monkey the other day. I had this whole cute setup with little cut out hearts. It was adorable. But guess what…. My little monkey is just that, a monkey! Now that his is walking EVERYWHERE he will not sit still for anything! At first he was mesmerized with all of the paper hearts. Then he just wanted to smash them and tear them apart, because that’s what little boys do. I only got these few images of him during our about 5 minute session before he decided to run away. I just love them though! He is growing so fast, I want to be able to capture every second of him that I can.

In this last one he was blowing kisses. That’s his newest trick. Isn’t he the sweetest?!

So after the very short session with Hudson I had my niece Rylee come over for her session. She did much better. She actually sat down for more than .25 seconds and she semi did what I asked her;)But she’s 2, I can’t ask much from her. Take a look! She’s a ham! Also, I might add that while I was trying to get some shots of Rylee, Hudson would run into the room and try to get in the shot. Just when I thought he might cooperate he’d run off again….

Notice how Hudson snuck in there? Lol!

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! A winner for the contest will be announced tomorrow. Yea!!

1) Heather

What shows LOVE more than dressing up as Peter Pan with your Tinkerbell for Halloween? She is the greatest blessing in our life and I want to always be the very best mommy I can be to my sweet angel.

For a long time, I had an internal battle going on about the possibility of never wanting children. All the thoughts of “I can barely take care of myself much less a kid”, “I still wanna go and do and not be tied down”, “What if something is wrong with he/she?” or the classic “I’m afraid I’ll never look the same again” played over and over in my head. Looking back now it was just a selfish phase I was going through, a phase that I truly feel that I was letting the devil win because it was also during a time that I was struggling with my faith. I was just going through the motions of going to church, etc. and not really getting into God’s Word and not allowing Him to be in control of my life but rather I wanted to try and control it myself. It took a real toll on me and my marriage. It came to a point where Kevin and I had hit bottom. At that point I knew something had to change…I had to change. So after A LOT of heart-to-hearts with my Father, I asked Him to take the wheel of my life and handed it all to Him. If it was His will to be done for us to have a baby then so be it..I was no longer in control. SO..about a year later from that very struggle, He blessed me, US, with the most precious, most beautiful, most PERFECT one of His angels we could ever ask for! She is the very light of our lives and I can’t ever imagine my life without her. Life without children doesn’t have near the meaning it does as life WITH them. God bless. (I guess this turned out to be more of a testimony rather than a “why I deserve to win this contest” explanation):)

2) Kara

Meet Emma (3) and Jasper (4 mo)! They are a perfect candidate for a photo shoot to capture TRUE LOVE. They aren’t two people who, by chance, met one day and now think they love each other. They are a brother and sister. They were each Dreamed about, talked about, and carefully planned to be together. Their lives didn’t cross paths “by chance”. They were purposely placed together to help each other thru life. They are the very best of friends and love each other very much. They are a perfect example of unconditional love. They love each other for no other reason than “just because”. They would love to have their picture taken and don’t even care where it is taken at. They think Mrs. Julie is unbelievable and can’t wait for her to capture just how much they love each other.

3) Lindsay

Hi! I am Lindsay and I would like to enter my family in your photo contest. I would love to have a photo session with my children. I really would like some outdoors in the spring maybe some where like the Ole Mill in Little Rock.

4) Whitney and Spencer

We would both love to have our pictures taken at the lakes in Penpointe. (Of course, there is a story behind the lake.) Spencer & I have known each other since childhood. I think this is a really neat thing considering we are getting married. Back to Penpointe, Spencer saw me walking there with a former guy I dated about a year and half ago. He thought to himself, there goes my chance she is married. Of course, I was not married and the guy soon became a thing of the past. I saw Spencer out last Feburary. He soon asked me to come walk around the lake. I lived in a subdivision where I could walk to lake. We soon met up and the rest is history.

I believe we should get the pictures because we could not be happier. We are both super excited to get married. I believe this excitement and love will show in your pictures. We would truly love the chance to get photographed by you. We want to show you somewhere that means a lot to both of us. Thank you again for the opportunity.

5) Tisha

Please enter my son and I in your photo contest. It is hard to believe my little boy is growing up so fast. I try to capture the moments as they past so that I can look back on them. I would love to have a family photo that is outdoors.

6) Nikki

My name is Nikki and this is my 5 1/2 month old little boy Henry. When you pull out a camera he just comes alive. He is such a cheeser! You never know if you are gonna get a smile or if he’s just gonna make faces at you. He is mine and my husbands first child after 7 years of marriage and 6 years of trying to get pregnant. Now that he is finally here we take every opportunity to take pics of him ourself but would love to win this package and get professional ones done. We live in Vilonia. Thank you so much!

7) Charlotte

I would like a family session with my husband and my two sons ages 3, and 2. We have never had any professional family photos made, for one reason or another it never works out. So we only have a couple of pictures with all of us in them because someone has to take the picture. I would really love to have someone take some great pictures of us, and capture us as a whole. Thank you so much!!

8 ) Lyndsay

Hi my name is Lyndsay. I am hoping to get a family session. My son and I for a year and a half had a very hard time. I struggled to make it as a single mother and never had much time to spend with him because I was always working. This past year has been a lil different for us. We have been blessed with the love of a very wonderful man. He has taken us for who we are and been so excepting. My son can really look up to him and finally has a father figure. For once we feel like a family again. I would really like to have family pictures taken with the three of us to display in our home! Thank you so much!!

9) Hannah

I am just entering for the heck of it. I really have no idea what kind of picture package I would like but If I were going to drive to Arkansas for pictures I would think outside ones would be good. I deserve to win because my husband hates to have his pictures taken and we have almost none of him. Oh then there is the fact that he is way skinny and I am not.

Good luck everyone! I can’t wait to see who wins!!

my sunshine | arkansas children’s photographer.

My little man will be 16 months old in just a few short days. My how the time flies! I know it’s cliche but it is so true. Everyday I see him and wonder where the time has gone. He is no longer a baby. He doesn’t even look like one anymore. He is a TODDLER! He is on the go, never sits still. He is learning words everyday. I am amazed every single day at the new things he is picking up. Today he learned how to say Pawpaw while he was talking on the phone with him. So sweet! Anyway, I hope I never forget the small things about him being this age. It really is such a fun age and I am having a blast learning and growing with him. I really need to do better with documenting all the small details of our daily life. So here are a few images of him from a couple weekends ago. I just love him!!

amy - ahh– he is just the CUTEST! great job!February 10, 2011 – 8:37 am

horn family | vilonia, ar family photographer.

I met up with the Horn family at their home so the kiddos would be comfortable in front of my camera. Let me tell you, these kiddos were so good to me! They were little models and did whatever I asked them to. They made my job too easy!

Beth Johnson Photography - What a beautiful family! Great job!February 7, 2011 – 7:55 pm
